I love the Day Zero Project. Looking back at my blog posts from the first two, I am reminded at how powerful that project is. My 3rd project was to finish in May 2018, but so much happened during that time, that it ended a year early. I didn't blog about that one, but feel like I should now to reflect on it and refocus on my current 4th one to rekindle it as it nears its ending on 2/2/2020. I had almost forgotten about it and hadn't updated my list since last summer. Maybe one of the reasons I love this project is that things get accomplished almost by osmosis. I put things on a list and somewhere in the back of my mind, they are there brewing. Next thing I know, things are accomplished whether I consciously make the effort or sometimes when I don't.
As part of The Happiness Project Experience, I have recognized that I am an "opener" which means that I am great at starting projects and tasks. Anyone who knows me well knew this already (including me) but having a label and recognition of that trait will hopefully help me with future projects. Another trait I have recognized is that I am a sprinter. I used to say that I was a procrastinator but I prefer the sprinter label. With a deadline, I sprint to the finish. I work best with a deadline which is why I love projects.
By recognizing and accepting my traits, I will work differently and hope that my future projects will be even more successful.
I used to regularly scrapbook and have family photo albums completed for most of my life but I still have 10 years worth missing. I keep wanting to complete my albums but it keeps getting more overwhelming as the years pass and the number of photos increase.
As I prepare for my Revive55 Memories Project, I recognize that although photo albums are amazing for preserving memories, it is just the beginning. As a Creative Memories Consultant, I used to teach the importance of journaling the stories that went with the photos in the albums. I have wonderful albums with stories, but I also have boxes and folders of memorabilia. There are stories that are in the process of being forgotten with that memorabilia.
The Revive55 Memories Project is about preserving and documenting the stories along with photos AND memorabilia.
Counting down the days until the start of my Revive55 Memories Project.
